Boston College Graduate Student Conference | Call for PapersProposals Due: December 31, 2023 | BC Graduate Student Conference Call for Papers The BC Department of Philosophy will be hosting its 24th annual Graduate Student Conference from 22–23 March 2024. While sponsored by the philosophy department, graduate students from any discipline are welcome and encouraged to submit proposals. This year's conference theme is The Imagination: Powers and Possibilities.
2024 FASPE Seminary FellowshipApplication Due: Jan. 2, 2024 | Application Link Here Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) provides a unique historical lens to study contemporary ethics in the professions. FASPE offers fellowships to students pursuing professional degrees in business, journalism, law, medicine, seminary, and design & technology, as well as to early-career professionals in these fields. Fellows in each of FASPE’s six programs spend two intensive weeks in Germany and Poland, visiting Auschwitz and key historical sites in Berlin and Krakow, and participating in rigorous seminars led by experts in their respective fields. Fellows begin their studies by examining the roles their professional counterparts played in Germany and elsewhere from 1933-1945, and then draw on historical, cultural, philosophical, literary and discipline-specific sources to explore the ethical issues facing their fields today.
Digital Humanity?: Artificial Intelligence, Spirituality, and the Art of Human Connection | Grad Student ConferenceBoisi Center for Religion and American Public Life at Boston CollegeSubmissions Due: January 12th, 2024 As an interdisciplinary conference, we welcome proposals from graduate and professional students in any discipline, including theology, ethics, philosophy, religious studies, political science, law, technology studies, anthropology, sociology, the digital humanities, disability studies, psychology, peace studies, nursing, social work, and related subject matters. The conference will be hybrid, with in-person and virtual options for attendance.
EJCGI Research Grant | Miller Center for Social EntrepreneurshipApplications Due: January 31, 2024 The Environmental Justice and the Common Good Initiative (EJCGI) is happy to announce our newest research grant opportunities in collaboration with Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The grants will advance Santa Clara University’s vision to create a more humane, just, and sustainable world, while promoting Miller Center’s mission to eradicate global poverty and protect the planet, and EJCGI’s mission to foster community-driven research for social and environmental justice.

Sunday Advent Reflections 2023Advent, Renewal, Restoration We begin Advent this year in a world rife with challenges, needs, and grace-filled opportunities. The world cries out for compassion, peace, and response to suffering. While we experience our world as much more interconnected than in previous times, we are also faced with deep fissures and seeming irreconcilable differences that threaten to upend our relationships with one another and our world. On the personal and communal levels, as well on the national and international ones, the challenge of Jesus' compassion and inclusive ministry call us to respond. How do we make God's love revealed to us in Jesus a reality in response to these deep differences? This Advent, we are invited to ponder the Sunday Advent readings and open ourselves to the transformative power of the Spirit that speaks to us of the ways to be love and mercy in this changed world. If you would like to receive a weekly reflection on the Sunday readings for this Advent Season please register with your email address below and they will be sent to you on the Saturday night before.

Community Organizing for Climate JusticeCommunity Organizing for Climate Justice through Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary is a semester-long program that seeks to equip leaders with a climate justice framework and practical tools to implement team-based climate resiliency projects and other climate justice projects in their communities.
