Upcoming Lay-led Liturgies - an invitation to assist with the planning and preparation for these Thursday evening servicesFollowing last week's Taize service, planning for four upcoming lay-led liturgies is underway. We welcome additional support in the planning for the liturgies to be celebrated on October 13, November 3, November 17, and December 1 (an Advent Reconciliation Service). You can help the community come together for common prayer even by sharing hopes you have for liturgy.

JST Enneagram and Self-Discovery Workshop Wednesday, Nov. 9 | 2:00-7:00pm | JST Manresa Lounge The Enneagram is an ancient wisdom tradition for understanding the dynamics of personality: both one’s giftedness and one’s challenges. This workshop for JST students, hosted by Bruce Lescher and Clare Ronzani, will offer an overview of the Enneagram and a basic introduction to the nine Enneagram “types.” Participants will be asked to fill out an informal Enneagram self-test before coming to the workshop. Clare Ronzani and Bruce Lescher have both taught courses in spirituality at the Jesuit School of Theology and the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries of Santa Clara University. Clare has served as JST’s career advisor; Bruce as Associate Academic Dean. Both are experienced spiritual directors and retreat leaders. RCIA/OCIA Faith Formation Webinars Did you know that the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) ritual text has been undergoing a process of revision? The newly-revised translation for the dioceses of the United States will be renamed the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. The Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions (FDLC) is hosting a free webinar series on the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). Community Conversation: Understanding the U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Abortion and its implications October 4 | 12:00-1:30pm | Zoom Please join us this Tuesday, October 4th for the first Community Conversation of the Fall Quarter. In light of the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization and its impact on abortion rights, this community conversation provides a space for members of the SCU to engage on the ruling, its impact and ways to learn more. This Community Conversation will be moderated by Deborah Moss-West, the Executive Director of the Katherine & George Alexander Law Center, and will feature a panel of SCU and non-SCU guests. The monthly Community Conversations (held typically on the first Tuesday of the month and are open to all members of the SCU community (students, faculty, staff and alumni).
