Liturgy News
Upcoming Lay-led Liturgy - On November 17th, Yolanda Brown and Fabio Colorado will serve as co-presiders of our Thursday evening lay-led liturgy commemorating the UCA martyrs. We are seeking a photographer so that we can share photos with the UCA community following the liturgy. Similarly, Yolanda and Fabio invite anyone who knows of a contemporary martyr in your own home country to share that name with them as they intend to commemorate such witnesses in our prayer. Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice 2022 Video Recordings The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (IFTJ) is an annual gathering during which members of the Ignatian family (including Jesuit and other Catholic schools, parishes, and organizations) meet to reflect on social justice and advocacy. Prophetic Communities: Organizing as an Expression of Catholic Social Thought University of San Francisco | Thursday February 9th -Saturday February 11th, 2023 English with simulcast interpretation to Spanish This conference will explore how Catholic theology and social thought has given rise to community organizing and how community organizers embody and shape the Catholic social tradition. Convened at the University of San Francisco, this three-day event will bring together scholars across disciplines with community organizers of various networks to build relationships, knowledge, and capacity for theological reflection and praxis. Our hope is that bridging the church, academy, and social movements, this conference will foster the solidarity and synodality that Pope Francis has envisioned. Trangender Awareness Week November also brings Transgender Awareness Week, held annually between November 13th-19th. The week ends with Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th, where we honor members of the trans community whom we have lost in the past year.
