Liturgy News
  • During the month of November, we have an opportunity to remember our beloved dead by placing a photo or object on the altarcito (little altar), the altar of remembrance in the Chapel, and/or by writing names in the Book of the Dead. This year’s altarcito features a contemporary icon, “Our Lady of Ferguson and All Who Have Died of Gun Violence,” by artist Mark C. Eugene Dukes, in observance of Black Catholic History Month in November.

JST Announcements
  • November 4th-22nd FIll it Forward Challenge
In an effort towards sustainable living, we are promoting the use of reusable water bottles rather than plastic throwaways.  Hyundai has donated Cupanion reusable bottles and stickers with an SCU 'code' to SCU. The stickers can be placed on your existing reusable water bottles. Students, Staff and Faculty can refill their bottles and scan with one of these items to gain points through the Cupanion app. A point will be given for each scan. The team with the most scans/points wins the competition. SCU's rivals are Loyola Marymount University and Pepperdine University.  JST will have bottles and stickers available in Compania on November 5. Every time you refill, Cupanion gives the equivalent of a cup of clean water to a person in need through a range of global development initiatives.  Check it out at http://cupanion.com/fill-it-forward. For more information, contact Mary Beth Lamb, melamb@scu.edu.
  • "Restorative Practices for Ministries, for Life" Workshop: On Wednesday, November 13, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at JST in Manresa, Dr. Carrie Rehak will facilitate a workshop on restorative justice. Explore general principles of restorative justice; key practices such as "circle" processes; and ways of putting them to use in ministries, in life. A light supper will be provided. Please register with Mary Beth Lamb, melamb@scu.edu, by Friday, November 8.
