October 27, 2021 The Mindset - Issue #4
Director's Message

Welcome to our Fall 2021 issue of The Mindset from Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University.  I am happy to be back on campus, in person, surrounded by students and all of the people that make a University come alive!

The elements of the Entrepreneurial Mindset are life skills that are important and valuable in all endeavors, from personal to professional.  In this issue, we explore Long Term Value Creation as an element of the Entrepreneurial Mindset and offer perspectives on the impacts that flow from our actions.

The Center has two new staff members, and is funding two new faculty research projects plus many more updates in this issue. We were especially pleased to welcome the new Dean of the Leavey School of Business, Ed Grier and SCU acting-Provost Ed Ryan as our keynote speakers at the Bronco Venture Accelerator graduation events this month!

As we teach, learn, and practice the Entrepreneurial Mindset, let’s all strive to thoughtfully navigate how to contribute and build, consciously and with directed intentionality, toward positive change for us all.

The Impact of a Single Photo

Maggie Menendez '22 shares why photography is as beautiful as it is dangerous.  In a world of social media, it is hard to take back a picture. Innovation naturally lends itself to pushing our boundaries of capability, but Menendez draws our attention back to the question of "Should we?" rather than "Can we?" Explore the impacts of creation, here!
