Academic Technology supports computers from both Apple and Dell.
Academic Technology supports the Dell OptiPlex, Dell Latitude, and Dell Precision Workstation models for the PC platform. These were selected as our PC hardware standard because the computers are reliable, and utilize consistent components and quality parts. We have an excellent relationship with Dell for equipment purchase and repair. Our contracted repair vendor is Dell Certified, and assists the Academic Technology staff with all warranty repairs. Although there are many other brands of computers available, by selecting a standard, our support staff has a broader knowledge base for troubleshooting problems and providing quality support.
For the Apple platform, we support the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac models.
For our Dell models, we have negotiated special pricing for these configurations. Please note that any requested changes to these configurations may mean an increase in cost.
If you have a computing need that is outside our recommended campus hardware standards, please email quotes@scu.edu the specific software requirements and your desired computer specifications and we will create a specialized quote to meet your needs.
Prices listed are approximate and fluctuate frequently. If you are interested in ordering a system, please request a quote by e-mailing quotes@scu.edu to confirm the current pricing before you send your requisition to the Purchasing Department.
