New Faculty Orientation (NFO)

Welcome new faculty! During NFO we facilitate engagement and connection across several essential aspects of your new faculty appointment, including an introduction to SCU's Jesuit mission and values, in-depth conversations around your specific appointment type, moderated conversations with some of our student leaders, as well as structured time to get to know your peers, cohorts, and key campus partners.

The New Faculty Orientation for 2025 is scheduled for September 8th and 9th. Read below for more details.

Getting Here

Driving and Public Transportation:

Please enter the university grounds via the Main Gate kiosk, located at the intersection of Palm Drive and El Camino Real, directly across from the Santa Clara Transit Center. The Transit Center offers access to Caltrain and major bus lines for convenient transportation.

If you requested a parking permit, it will be held at the kiosk under New Faculty Orientation.

Where to Meet & What to Bring:

• Location: St. Clare Room (Learning Commons / Library)
• Breakfast and coffee from 8:30 AM
• Orientation begins at 9:00 AM

Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days

✔️ Don’t forget to bring a water bottle!

✔️  Bring a phone or tablet for scanning presentation QR codes (to allow you to view slides and interact with presentations)

✔️ Bring a Laptop if you require a larger screen for reading and/or using Zoom to generate captioning on the presentations.
