12-Step Support Groups

12-step support groups offer a fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from various struggles.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop the behavior that is causing distress and discomfort. There are no dues or fees for most 12-step groups and they are not run by professional counselors, but rather by individuals who are also in the program and are working toward their own recovery.
