Economics Students Association

Economics & Engineering Physics Majors and Mathematics & Religious Studies Minors
Hometown:  San Jose, California

Reflective of the discipline itself, the Economics Student Association offers opportunities to students that are geared towards the dual development of business skills and academic acumen by facilitating social events, presentations by faculty, and workshops relevant to the career goals of economics majors and minors.  I joined the Economics Student Association to meet students who are interested in implementing the methods and findings of economics to engage real world problems. Since joining, I have also found that our club is also a great way to meet economics professors—many of whom are often readily willing to share insights about their research with students.

What I like most about our club is that it serves as a way for economics majors and minors to form a community around our interests. Since economics is one of the most popular majors at Santa Clara, we have students with interests ranging from behavioral economics and game theory to international economics and economic history. Our club is a great way to meet students who share your specific interests as well as those who might introduce you to an emerging subfield.
