Rose is a final-year Counseling Psychology Master’s student at Santa Clara University on the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) track with a Health Psychology emphasis. She holds a BS in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and completed a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at the Recovery Café San Jose, supporting individuals in recovery through community-building and holistic care. Most recently, Rose is a College Success Counselor at Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School, where she works with first-generation students as they navigate the college application process and overcome the challenges that come with being college-bound.
Rose is filled with gratitude to continue her professional growth at CAPS, a setting that prioritizes equity, cura personalis, and evidence-based practices. She approaches therapy through a person-centered lens, integrating techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support clients in enhancing emotional regulation, fostering secure relationships, and building resilience. Additionally, Rose’s emphasis in Health Psychology has deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection and the importance of integrating mindfulness, somatic awareness, and health promotion into therapeutic work.
Rose believes that every individual is on a unique journey of growth, and that everyone has the right to flourish. With the proper nurturing of the mind, body, and spirit, people can thrive. Rose is committed to walking alongside clients in this process, helping them recognize their strengths while building resilience and accessing the resources they need to succeed.
